Veteran Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr has left his position as Chairman, CTO, and Director at Ocean Mining Pool, citing differing views on Bitcoin mining's future direction.

Dashjr, a co-founder of Ocean, was bought out by parent company Mummolin for his equity stake in the pool.

The move comes weeks after Dashjr took leave following the failure of his BIP-110 proposal, which aimed to restrict non-financial data storage on Bitcoin.

Dashjr is now set to launch a new mining venture called Convoy, while Ocean has confirmed it will continue operating its transparent and non-custodial pool, distributing mining rewards directly to participants.
