DB Securities Leads Charge as Title Sponsor of Ethereum Korea Conference
DB Securities has taken center stage in South Korea's Ethereum ecosystem by becoming the title sponsor of 'Ethereum Korea One: Genesis', a conference that will be held in Seoul from April 28th to 29th. This marks the first time a South Korean securities firm has held this position, and it highlights the growing interest in tokenized securities (STO) among financial institutions.
The event is being hosted by the Ethereum Korea Consortium, which aims to connect South Korean institutions and policy stakeholders with the global Ethereum ecosystem. The conference will feature keynotes from notable speakers such as Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum, and Tom Lee, chairman of BitMine.
DB Securities' involvement in the event is significant, as they are stepping up as title sponsor and CEO Kwak Bong-seok will deliver the opening keynote on the first day. The company's head of digital asset business team, Lee Ju-sik, will also speak on the first day, while CFO Jang Hyun-il will present on the second day.
The conference will cover various topics such as tokenization, custody, staking, real-world assets (RWA), and the on-chain transformation of regulated finance. With South Korea's STO regime set to take effect in 2027, the event will examine STO business developments at Franklin Templeton and DB Securities, while the Ethereum Foundation will address Ethereum's role as on-chain infrastructure.
