DCG and SoFi Join Forces to Push Clarity Act Through Senate

Share

The Digital Currency Group (DCG) has voiced its support for the Clarity Act, urging US Senate leaders to move forward with the legislation. This development comes after a recent mobilization by major Wall Street names, including BlackRock, Fidelity, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs, and SoFi, who have also expressed their backing for the bill.

SoFi's CEO emphasized the importance of establishing clear rules for cryptocurrencies, stating that 'the time has come for everyone to come together to support this cause.' The company is pushing Congress to pass the Clarity Act immediately.

However, negotiations surrounding the legislation are not without their challenges. One major point of contention revolves around the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) and its proposed protections for software developers. The SEC has expressed opposition to amendments that would remove language related to protecting developers against criminal prosecution.
