DCG Calls on Senate to Pass Clarity Act Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
Major cryptocurrency investment firm Digital Currency Group (DCG) has urged the U.S. Senate to pass the Clarity Act, citing regulatory uncertainty that's causing companies and investors to flock to other financial hubs like Singapore and the UAE.
The bill aims to establish a long-term regulatory framework for digital assets by defining when cryptocurrencies fall under the jurisdiction of the SEC or CFTC. Supporters argue this will provide businesses with greater certainty while protecting investors and encouraging innovation within the U.S.
However, not everyone is on board. Senator Elizabeth Warren has expressed concerns that the bill doesn't go far enough in addressing illicit finance risks and consumer protections.
