DCG Warns Senate: Pass Clarity Act or Lose Ground in Global Crypto Market
Crypto investment firm Digital Currency Group has urged lawmakers to pass the bipartisan Clarity Act before Congress's August recess, warning that failure to do so will result in the loss of ground to other countries like Singapore and the UAE.
The company, which has a portfolio of over 200 companies including Grayscale, claims that the current draft of the bill provides regulatory certainty for crypto and prevents talent and capital from migrating abroad.
DCG's statement reads: 'The competitive stakes could not be higher. The United States has long been the global center of technological innovation, but we are ceding ground at an alarming pace.'
The Clarity Act has been stalled in Congress due to concerns over stablecoin yields and objections from some Democrats and critics, despite having backing from institutions like Fidelity and Goldman Sachs.
