Decta Taps USDC for Stable Treasury Settlements
Payments platform Decta has announced that it will use the US dollar-denominated stablecoin $USDC for international settlement of its own funds. This integration with OpenPayd, a financial infrastructure company, will enable Decta to convert its company funds into $USDC via over-the-counter capabilities.
Lux Thiagarajah, chief commercial officer at OpenPayd, explained that this is a proprietary treasury use case rather than a customer-facing payments flow. This means that the stablecoins are being used internally by Decta for treasury and liquidity management purposes, not as part of its payment services to customers.
Scott Dawson, CEO of Decta UK, stated that the company wants technology to make its financial operations faster, simpler, and more resilient while maintaining existing controls and regulatory discipline. The integration with OpenPayd is expected to help Decta move funds between its entities internationally, manage liquidity, and streamline treasury operations.
