DeFi Giants Aave and Trident Unveil $100m Fixed-Yield Loan
DeFi giants Aave and Trident have joined forces to launch a $100m onchain fixed-yield loan, marking a significant shift in the volatile world of decentralized finance (DeFi). The move aims to offer a stable investment option for lenders by addressing long-standing issues in digital asset lending.
The new loan model ties interest payments directly to protocol revenue, balancing risk and reward. Trident's CEO, Anthony DeMartino, emphasized that 'it's all about certainty,' citing fixed rates and terms as a win-win for both borrowers and lenders.
As part of the initiative, Aave DAO has implemented an instance of Aave v3, supporting Ether-correlated assets in collaboration with Lido DAO. The loan requires 33,000 ETH to be locked up for three months, generating aETH tokens as collateral.
