DeFi Services Start Requiring Permission for Access
Decentralized Finance (DeFi) is often associated with open access and permissionless participation. However, some DeFi services are now starting to require permission before users can interact with them.
This concept is known as Permissioned DeFi, which applies access control to protocols, applications, or liquidity pools through KYC, AML screening, identity verification, wallet authorization, or other compliance rules.
Permissioned DeFi does not mean the blockchain is closed. Blockchains can remain public and permissionless, while restrictions are applied to certain services.
