DeFi Tech CEO Confident in Company's Trajectory Amid Share Price Decline
DeFi Technologies Inc., (Nasdaq: DEFT) (CBOE CA: DEFI) (GR: R9B), a financial technology company bridging traditional capital markets and decentralized finance, has issued a letter to shareholders from its CEO Johan Wattenström.
The company's share price decline is attributed to the weak crypto market, sector rotation out of crypto equities, and technical factors related to the recent capital raise. However, Wattenström believes that the business is primed to deliver even higher output than during the last crypto bull market, with greater asymmetric upside.
DeFi Technologies has a strong balance sheet of approximately $150 million as of the end of Q1 and operates a more diversified platform across Valour and Stillman. The company continues to invest in its core business areas while building new ones and is aggressively identifying and reducing suboptimal costs to lower its break-even level.
Wattenström emphasizes that success in strong market regimes is defined by how hard the company works in downturns. He expresses confidence in DeFi Technologies' trajectory, citing the company's ability to navigate a particularly difficult regulatory landscape in the EU and its commitment to building a world-class company and rebuilding shareholder trust and value.
The CEO also highlights the importance of AI in optimizing the business, which is now integral to daily operations and will soon contribute directly to revenue generation. DeFi Technologies has had net inflows into Valour's ETPs year-to-date, seen as a sign of strength in the current environment, and has concluded two large successful brand-building campaigns.
