DeFi Technologies' CEO Assures Shareholders Amid Crypto Market Weakness
DeFi Technologies Inc., a financial technology company bridging traditional capital markets and decentralized finance (DeFi), has issued a letter to shareholders from its CEO and Executive Chairman, Johan Wattenström. The letter addresses the decline in share price, which Wattenström attributes to factors including a weak crypto market, sector rotation out of crypto equities, and technical factors related to the company's capital raise.
Wattenström emphasizes that the company has taken the decline seriously and is working diligently to strengthen its underlying business. He notes that DeFi Technologies delivered record revenue and net income in 2025, boasts a fortress balance sheet of approximately $150 million as of Q1, and operates with effectively zero debt.
The company continues to invest across core business areas while building new ones and is aggressively identifying and reducing suboptimal costs. Wattenström also highlights the launch of its first hedge fund, which is expected soon, as well as plans to scale arbitrage strategies in the second half of the year.
