DeFi Technologies CEO Blames Crypto Market Weakness for Stock Price Decline

Share

DeFi Technologies CEO Johan Wattenström has written a letter to shareholders addressing the decline in stock price. According to Wattenström, the main reason for this is weakness in the crypto market, as well as capital rotation out of the crypto stocks sector and technical factors related to recent financing.

The company's balance sheet is approximately $150 million as of the end of the first quarter, with almost zero debt and profitability. This puts DeFi Technologies in a more favorable position compared to the previous bear market, when the share price fell below $0.10 and the company carried over $40 million in debt.

The company is preparing for expansion, including launching its first hedge fund and increasing the scale of arbitrage strategies in the second half of the year. It has also filed an appeal after the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority rejected an application for a UCITS structure related to crypto assets.
