DeFi Technologies Stock Bounces But Fundamental Issues Remain
The stock price of DeFi Technologies surged by 8.73 percent on Thursday to EUR 0.3762, recovering some ground after a brutal stretch that had pushed the stock deep into oversold territory.
The relief rally came despite an unforgiving market environment, with the Federal Reserve keeping its benchmark rate steady and the yield on 30-year US Treasuries surging to 5.20 percent, a level not seen since 2007.
The company's CEO, Johan Wattenström, attributed the stock's decline from its summer 2025 high of EUR 2.46 to external forces, including a weak altcoin market and sector rotation away from crypto equities.
However, shareholders' voting results from the company's annual general meeting reveal cracks in trust, with Wattenström receiving notably less support than other board members.
