DeFi Tokenized Assets Hit Record High Despite Hacking Surge
The DeFi space has seen a significant increase in tokenized assets, reaching nearly $3.97 billion in value, despite a record number of hacks in the second quarter of 2026.
This figure represents about 11.7% of the total real-world asset (RWA) active market cap of $33.9 billion and on-chain market cap of $36.7 billion.
The majority of these tokenized assets are being used in lending markets, liquidity pools, and yield protocols, with private credit leading the way in terms of usage.
Notably, two funds from Maple, syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT, account for about $1.5 billion in DeFi Active TVL, making up roughly 38.6% of the total value.
