DeFi Trading Platforms Gains Network and Kwenta Compared
Gains Network and Kwenta are two notable players in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, offering trading services for various assets. Both platforms have their strengths and weaknesses, which we will examine in this comparison.
Gains Network offers more than 270 pairs across cryptocurrencies, forex, commodities, and equities, making it a wide-ranging platform. It also allows users to trade forex and commodities without a conventional brokerage account, using collateral in DAI, USDC, or WETH. However, the platform's leverage is up to 500x on crypto and 1000x on forex, which can be challenging for retail traders.
Kwenta, on the other hand, has been acquired by Synthetix, a leading DeFi protocol. Kwenta offers synthetic perpetuals from the Synthetix ecosystem, with more than 40 tracked assets. It also retains existing trading functionality during the transition and has low network fees on Optimism. However, its fees are higher than the segment norm, ranging from 0.25% to 0.3% per trade.
Both platforms lack EU authorization, which is a significant concern for users in that region. The comparison highlights the importance of considering factors like leverage, fees, and regulatory compliance when choosing a trading platform.
