Deoria Man Accused of Duping Resident with Cryptocurrency Scam

A Deoria resident has filed a complaint against a man accused of duping him out of ₹10 lakh through cryptocurrency investments. The complainant, Piyush Kumar Singh, met Ayush Singh in December 2025 and was promised massive returns on his investment. Ayush allegedly showed photographs of purported investors to gain Piyush's confidence and claimed he could help multiply money nearly fivefold within five years.

Ayush convinced Piyush to invest ₹10 lakh, which the complainant borrowed twice from his father. However, when Piyush became suspicious and demanded his money back, Ayush allegedly refused and threatened him with dire consequences, including murder.
