On September 25, 2026, Bitcoin and Ether options worth $14.39 billion and $1.81 billion respectively will expire at Deribit exchange.

This is the quarterly date for options expiration, accounting for 41.5% of the total open interest in Bitcoin options.

For holders of leveraged positions, futures contracts, or options, it's essential to check three things before then: the expiry time of their contract, how far away the liquidation price is, and what financing costs they'll incur until that day.

The Deribit exchange has 908 active Bitcoin options contracts and 794 Ether contracts, with 181,896 Bitcoin and 725,262 Ethereum set to expire on September 25.
