Coinbase's derivatives exchange, Deribit, is set to launch perpetual contracts for stocks on August 31. This move marks a significant expansion of its real-world asset (RWA) product suite and its plans to migrate international derivatives to Deribit.

The linear perpetual contracts will cover equities, ETFs, commodities, and pre-IPO contracts, all quoted, margined, and settled in USDC. Trading will be available 24/7, but special pricing, liquidity, and risk rules will apply outside regular market hours.

Deribit is part of Coinbase's broader efforts to migrate derivatives trading from International Exchange (INTX) to a Deribit-powered gateway running the Starbase matching engine. The full migration is expected to complete on September 9, 2026.
