Deribit Unveils High-Performance Starbase Upgrade for Unified Derivatives
Deribit has rolled out its high-performance Starbase upgrade for unified derivatives trading. The new matching engine is now live as part of the integration with Coinbase International Exchange.
According to Deribit, the Starbase upgrade represents a complete overhaul of their market infrastructure. It delivers processing capabilities of over 100,000 orders per second with sub-millisecond latencies and architectural improvements aimed at achieving lower latency, higher throughput, and enhanced fairness through measures such as strict FIFO prioritization.
The upgrade maintains backwards compatibility with existing APIs and introduces new high-performance binary APIs. A staged rollout is planned, beginning in April for test markets, partial direct access in June, and a full migration by August.
