The crypto market is bracing for a significant test today as Deribit's Bitcoin options expiry hits $6.36 billion, the largest short-term challenge of the year.

Approximately 81,000 contracts are set to expire, with nearly all of them concentrated on call positions over put positions, indicating that traders are betting on further price growth.

The current price of Bitcoin sits around $80,000, which is above the max pain point of $69,000. However, QCP Research warns that the recent rally was partly driven by short covering, leaving the market vulnerable to a sharp drop if fresh demand does not emerge.
