Dinaro Becomes First Slovenian Stablecoin Issuer Under EU's MiCA Framework
Slovenia has taken its first step into the European Union's stablecoin authorization framework under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) as Dinaro, a Ljubljana-based payments firm, secured a spot on the EU register of electronic money token issuers.
Dinaro is an electronic money institution supervised by the Bank of Slovenia, and it provides payment services including card issuing and acquiring. The company holds principal membership with Mastercard.
The European Securities and Markets Authority updated its e-money token register, adding Dinaro as the first Slovenian entity to receive authorization under MiCA. This move brings the total number of authorized EMT issuers across the EU to 43.
