DOGE Volatility Builds as Price Squeeze Hits Three-Year Extreme
Dogecoin's price has plummeted 70% in the past year, causing it to slip from eighth place to eleventh in the cryptocurrency rankings.
Crypto chart analyst Ali Martinez notes that Dogecoin is experiencing its tightest Bollinger Band squeeze since September 2023, indicating building volatility and a potential major price move.
A Bollinger Band squeeze indicates declining volatility but does not predict the direction of the eventual move. A sharp expansion could occur either higher or lower.
Martinez also mentioned that Dogecoin whales appear to be positioning for an upside, with large holders accumulating over 430 million DOGE.
The Tom DeMark Sequential has flashed a buy signal on Dogecoin's monthly chart, suggesting a potential trend reversal. Derivatives data shows that futures open interest has climbed to nearly $1.19 billion, and speculative positioning is approaching levels last seen in October 2025.
