DOGE vs SHIB: Is the Memecoin Rivalry Finally Over?

Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), two popular memecoins, have had their fair share of rivalry in the past. However, it appears that the competition between them has fizzled out over time.

Shiba Inu's launch in 2020 was met with immense enthusiasm, with its price skyrocketing by several million percent within months of its debut. It eventually reached an all-time high of $0.00008616 in October 2021 and entered the top 15 projects by market cap.

However, Shiba Inu's price has since fallen by nearly 95% from its peak, currently ranking outside the top 30 projects by market cap. Dogecoin (DOGE), on the other hand, saw a steady rise to an all-time high of $0.7316 in May 2021 and is still holding onto its ranking as the 11th largest cryptocurrency project with a market cap of $2.84 billion.

While it may seem that the rivalry has died down, Shiba Inu's team has been working on various developments to grow out of its memecoin shell. They have launched several products, including the Shibarium layer-2 network and ShibOS, a metaverse, among others.
