Dogecoin Bearish Cross Triggers Debate Among Analysts
Dogecoin (DOGE) has posted a rare weekly bearish cross, sparking debate among technical analysts. The token's 20-week exponential moving average (EMA) fell below its 200-week EMA, which is often seen as a bottoming signal in DOGE's history.
According to Charting Guy, a frequent observer of the crypto market, this crossover has historically preceded a recovery for Dogecoin. 'That happened last week,' he wrote, adding that he increased his position by 50% at the lows.
However, not all traders share this conviction. Daan Crypto Trades framed the recent bounce off $0.08 as a range trade rather than a trend reversal. He sees the current price action as a 'constructive' move but notes that it's hard to assume direction when DOGE is trading within a narrow range of $0.08, $0.13.
The market sentiment remains divided, with some analysts cautioning about potential liquidation risks. João Wedson, CEO of Alphractal, warned long holders that they 'will likely be liquidated soon!' He pointed out that Dogecoin's rallies often precede sideways movement in Bitcoin (BTC), which he sees as a risk signal.
