Dogecoin Beats Trump to the Lunar Surface with Upcoming Launch
Dogecoin (CRYPTO: DOGE) took to Twitter on Monday in response to President Donald Trump's Truth Social post, which featured an image of the lunar surface overlaid with the text 'THE MOON IS OURS.'
The Dogecoin official X account played on the memecoin's long-running 'to the moon' meme by responding, 'Ahem, there is a queue.'
This exchange comes after Trump's declaration that the moon is theirs. However, it appears Dogecoin may have beaten him to it, literally.
A lunar orbital mission called DOGE-1, paid for entirely with Dogecoin, is set to launch on September 14 from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The mission, planned by Canadian research firm Geometric Energy Corporation, was originally slated to launch in 2022 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
