Dogecoin Defies Top-20 Crypto Market Decline with 92.7% Trading Volume Surge
Dogecoin (DOGE) has emerged as the only top-20 cryptocurrency to experience a notable increase in trading volume, standing out from the rest of the market. DOGE saw a 92.7% surge in daily trading volume, reaching around $1.55 billion, while other major cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and BNB witnessed declines ranging from 35% to over 45%. Bitcoin's trading volume plummeted by more than 55% over the previous day.
The price chart indicates that DOGE has been consolidating near the $0.07 support area for several weeks before the recent spike in activity. In the latest session, buyers intervened, lifting the token by nearly 6% and allowing it to return to the 50-day moving average, breaking a pattern of stagnant trading.
The increase in volume is particularly significant as it often precedes more substantial directional changes. Dogecoin's recent advance coincides with a substantial rise in market activity, suggesting that new capital is entering rather than current traders merely switching positions.
