Dogecoin Holds Ground as Trading Activity Remains High
Despite a relatively quiet market, Dogecoin (DOGE) has posted a nearly 3% gain in USD terms over the past 24 hours, reaching a price of $0.1094 on May 1. This modest increase in value comes as DOGE's daily volume reaches $2B against a market cap of $16.9B, keeping it ranked 10th globally.
The token's trading activity remains high, with its current volume-to-market-cap ratio sitting at around 12%. While this figure is consistent with an asset that attracts significant speculative trading, the absolute volume figure places Dogecoin among the most actively traded crypto assets on the day.
A closer look at DOGE's performance reveals that the token has largely been driven by its correlation with Bitcoin (BTC), posting only a 0.4% gain in BTC-denominated terms. This suggests that much of the move reflects BTC price movement rather than DOGE-specific demand.
