Dogecoin Surges Past Bitcoin in April, Zcash Posts 42% Monthly Gain
Dogecoin (DOGE) emerged as the top performer in April, outpacing Bitcoin (BTC) and posting double-digit gains in the final week of the month. The meme token rose more than 17% in April and gained over 11% in the last week.
The rally came as DOGE broke above the $0.10 level for the first time in two months, marking a key technical milestone during the rally. Bitcoin, on the other hand, advanced nearly 14% for the month but posted only a 0.3% gain over the past week.
Zcash (ZEC) was the standout large-cap performer for the month, posting gains of roughly 42%. Among the top 50 coins by market cap, Zcash capitalized on incoming liquidity as tensions eased between Iran and the U.S.
