Dogecoin Team Fakes Overhaul, But Real Activity Surges
The Dogecoin (DOGE) team posted an April Fools' prank on social media platform X, claiming to rebrand the project as DogeCoin Financial Solutions LLC and making several other sweeping changes.
The post, which was quickly identified by community members as a joke, included plans to retire the iconic Shiba Inu logo in favor of a new 'tasteful navy blue emblem', publish a 67-page whitepaper titled Toward a Synergistic Decentralized Liquidity Framework, and drop the words 'wow,' 'much,' and 'very' from all communications.
The team cited 'legal reasons' for the language ban, stating that it would 'position DogeCoin Financial Solutions LLC for maximum enterprise scalability and shareholder value optimization going forward.'
However, beneath the humor, the network showed real movement. According to crypto analyst Ali Martinez, Dogecoin's active addresses rose 28% in seven days, climbing from 57,000 to 73,000.
