The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency allegedly bound for Hamas. The funds were taken from addresses promoted to supporters through an encrypted group chat and a fundraising website.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro described the seizure as 'a massive blow' to Hamas, which was designated by the US as a foreign terrorist organization.

The DOJ took control of websites and servers used by Hamas to collect donations and recruit supporters online, according to the Department. The action targeted fundraising infrastructure associated with Hamas' military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades.
