DOJ Seizes $560K in Crypto Allegedly Bound for Hamas
U.S. federal investigators have dealt a significant blow to Hamas, seizing more than $560,000 in cryptocurrency that was allegedly being funneled to the organization.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the move on Tuesday, stating that the seized funds were intended for Hamas' military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades.
According to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, the DOJ has also taken control of websites and servers used by Hamas to collect donations and recruit supporters online.
Pirro described the seizure as 'a massive blow' to Hamas, which was designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the U.S.
