DOJ Seizes $560K in Crypto Allegedly Bound for Hamas
U.S. federal investigators have dealt a significant blow to Hamas, seizing over $560,000 in cryptocurrency and taking control of websites and servers allegedly used by the group to collect donations and recruit supporters online.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the action, which targeted fundraising infrastructure associated with Hamas' military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades. The funds were seized under three unsealed warrants issued in March, June, and October 2025.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro described the move as 'a massive blow' to Hamas, which was designated by the U.S. as a foreign terrorist organization.
The DOJ has also obtained 'the names and identities of thousands of individuals who tried to give money to Hamas that we were able to intercept,' said Pirro. The FBI will use this information in future counterterrorism work.
