DOJ Seizes $560K in Crypto Allegedly Sent to Hamas
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency that was allegedly being sent to Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization designated by the U.S.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro described the seizure as 'a massive blow' to Hamas and warned that its networks are not secure and its crypto is vulnerable to seizure.
The seized funds were taken from addresses promoted through an encrypted group chat and a fundraising website, according to the DOJ.
Pirro noted that the DOJ has also obtained the names and identities of thousands of individuals who attempted to donate to Hamas but had their transactions intercepted.
