DOJ Seizes $560K in Cryptocurrency Allegedly Bound for Hamas
The Department of Justice has seized over $560,000 in cryptocurrency that investigators believe was intended for Hamas. The funds were frozen under court-authorized warrants issued in March, June, and October 2025.
According to U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro, the seizure is a significant blow to Hamas, which has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the United States.
Pirro stated that the DOJ now possesses the names and identities of thousands of individuals who attempted to provide money to Hamas through cryptocurrency channels that were intercepted. The FBI will use this information for future counterterrorism efforts.
