DOJ Targets Iran-Linked Crypto Funds Worth $61 Million
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a request to seize $61 million in assets, which it claims are linked to Iran's black market oil sales laundered through cryptocurrency transactions.
According to the DOJ, the funds in question were generated by Iranian entities that sold crude oil on the black market and then used cryptocurrency to launder the proceeds.
The U.S. government has been cracking down on illicit activities involving cryptocurrencies, including money laundering and terrorist financing.
