Dollar Plunges to 3-Year Low Amid Global Trade Tensions
The US Dollar Index (DXY) plummeted to its lowest level in three years on Monday, falling to 98.23 amid escalating global trade tensions initiated by President Trump.
This decline marks an acceleration of the downward trend that has characterized the dollar's performance throughout the year, with the index retreating more than 10% since January.
The weakness in the dollar has driven investors towards safe-haven assets, with gold reaching a record high of $3,380 per ounce and gaining 29% in dollar terms this year.
Bitcoin also surged to a four-week high of $87,550, potentially decoupling from tech stocks as it maintains its gains at approximately $87,400.
