Dollar Tumbles to 3-Year Low as Gold Hits Record and Bitcoin Surges
The US Dollar Index plummeted to a three-year low on Monday, dropping to 98.23 amid escalating global trade tensions initiated by President Trump. The index has fallen more than 10% since January.
Gold prices surged to an all-time high of $3,380 per ounce, gaining 29% in dollar terms this year as investors increasingly seek safe-haven assets amid growing currency concerns.
BTC (Bitcoin) climbed above $87,000, potentially decoupling from tech stocks and forging its own path in the financial landscape. Analysts note that Bitcoin must clear the $88,500 level it reached in late March to potentially move into the $90,000 range.
