A significant Bitcoin wallet has moved its balance after over 15 years of dormancy. The address, which received 8.54 BTC on June 13, 2011, when Bitcoin traded at around $14, has shown no activity until August 16, 2026.

The full balance was transferred in a single transaction recorded in block 962,770, with the current value of the coins estimated to be around $538,000. This represents an impressive gain of approximately 461,981% if sold at this price, based on the initial cost basis from 2011.

Galaxy Research reported on the transaction, highlighting that the address has no public attribution and the owner's identity remains unknown. The transfer does not necessarily indicate a sale, as Bitcoin holders can move coins between wallets for security or custody reasons without sending them to an exchange.
