A significant movement of Bitcoin has taken place as a dormant wallet transferred 730 BTC, valued at roughly $46.12 million, to a new address after being inactive for approximately four years.
The transaction was flagged by blockchain tracking firm Onchain Lens via a post on X (formerly Twitter). According to Onchain Lens, the funds were moved to an address beginning with '1KHXBi.'
Analysts are debating whether this signals a potential sale or a routine security measure by a long-term holder. Historically, large transfers from dormant wallets often trigger speculation about potential sell pressure.
However, on-chain analysts caution that moving coins to a new address does not necessarily mean they will be sold. Many holders consolidate or reorganize their wallets for security or estate planning reasons.
