Bitcoin's price surge in August has awakened dormant wallets, resulting in significant transfers of cryptocurrency from addresses that had been inactive for over a decade. According to Finway, at least 13 Bitcoin wallets that had remained inactive for 12 to over 15 years resumed activity in August.

The largest transfer occurred on August 18th, when 212 BTC was moved from an address that had not been used since 2012. At the time of the transaction, the amount was valued at $13.66 million, with an average cost of $12 per unit.

This represents a realized profit of over $13.66 million, equivalent to a growth of 557,640%. On August 22nd, another wave of activity was recorded when several old Bitcoin addresses moved 282.31 BTC, resulting in significant profits for the owners due to the substantial increase in Bitcoin's price.

The August transfers from 'sleeping' addresses are becoming increasingly noticeable against the backdrop of rising Bitcoin prices. This trend is expected to continue as more investors take advantage of the cryptocurrency's prolonged rise.
