Dormant Bitcoin Wallets Awaken, Moving $50M in Early September

Dormant Bitcoin wallets sprang to life in early September, moving a total of 626.74 BTC valued at over $50 million within the first five days of the month. According to data, significant activity came from wallets created in 2013 and 2011, with eight wallets from 2013 transferring 200 BTC to Bitgo within just 25 seconds. This rapid movement is likely a consolidation of holdings.

The total amount transferred represents just 9.75% of August's vintage Bitcoin spending, indicating a slowdown in activity among long-term holders. Bitcoin's price has been fluctuating between $76,000 and $82,000, which may be contributing to this cautious behavior.
