A 500 BTC wallet valued at approximately $31.3 million was activated after being dormant for 12.7 years, indicating increased activity among long-term holders.

The activation is one of several instances where dormant Bitcoin wallets have shown fresh signs of life, with a total of 935 BTC moved from wallets inactive for over ten years on August 3rd, marking the highest daily level since March.

A larger wallet holding 16,400 BTC worth around $1.04 billion also made a move after seven months of inactivity, but instead of heading to exchanges, most of these coins were transferred to a new address.

The destination of these transfers does not prove self-custody or a security-related migration, and some have raised questions about the timing due to concerns surrounding a suspected Coldcard exploit.
