Dormant Ethereum ICO Whale Wakes After 11 Years, Moves Tiny Amount
A long-dormant Ethereum ICO investor has finally moved some of their holdings after an 11-year wait. The whale, which had been inactive since receiving 2,000 ETH during Ethereum's ICO in 2014, sent a small amount - just 0.1 ETH worth around $190 - to Coinbase.
The address in question invested $620 at the time and has seen its value grow exponentially due to Ethereum's remarkable price appreciation over the past decade. At current prices, that initial stake is now worth approximately $3.83 million, representing an estimated return of about 6,184 times the original investment.
While transfers to exchanges are often interpreted as a precursor to selling, this tiny amount suggests it might be a test transaction rather than an immediate large-scale sell-off. This event highlights the incredible returns possible in the crypto space and the ongoing evolution of the Ethereum network.
