Dragonfly Capital Moves $2M APEX Tokens to Bybit Amid Institutional Selling Concerns
Dragonfly Capital's recent transfer of $2 million worth of APEX tokens to Bybit has raised questions about potential selling pressure from institutional investors. The move, flagged by on-chain analytics platform Arkham, occurred just two weeks after the tokens were unlocked.
The APEX tokens were part of Dragonfly's publicly tracked wallet portfolio and represented their third-largest holding behind LIT and BGB. As one of the earliest institutional backers of ApeX Protocol, which launched its mainnet on Arbitrum in February 2022, Dragonfly had participated in the project's first funding round alongside Tiger Global and Jump Trading.
The transfer to Bybit is notable since it was also the exchange where ApeX Protocol initially distributed its tokens through Bybit Launchpad 2.0 back in April 2022. While Arkham categorized the move as either a sale or a liquidity maneuver, leaving some ambiguity in interpretation, the token has so far shown no dramatic price reaction.
