Druckenmiller Pours $88 Million into Digital Assets Play
Stanley Druckenmiller's Duquesne Family Office has invested over $88 million in digital assets, including a significant stake in Bitdeer Technologies Group (BTDR). According to the firm's Q2 holdings, Duquesne reported 4.1 million shares of BTDR valued at over $64.7 million, with an average purchase price of $12.26.
Bitdeer is a global high-performance computing company that manufactures cryptocurrency mining hardware and operates data centers in the U.S. and internationally. The firm's recent Q2 financial results showed quarter-over-quarter net and gross loss percentages decreasing, and it has closed a 16-year, $4.7B AI deal for 121MW at Norway's Tydal campus.
Druckenmiller also invested indirectly in the Hyperliquid ecosystem by purchasing 2.9 million shares of Hyperliquid Strategies (PURR) valued at $23.1 million. Hyperliquid is a decentralized exchange that hosts all kinds of assets and commodities, and its token recently rose to record highs after President Donald Trump revealed plans to bring it into the U.S. in a fully compliant and legal fashion.
Other investors, including Jane Street and Ken Griffin's Citadel, have also increased their holdings in BTDR and PURR. The move by Druckenmiller's firm comes as other notable investors are also showing interest in digital assets.
