DTCC's live production trades using tokenized securities on July 15, 2026, marked a significant milestone in the adoption of blockchain technology in traditional finance. The trades involved over two dozen institutions, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, and Vanguard, which collectively safeguard more than $114 trillion in securities.

The assets traded included tokenized equities, exchange-traded funds like the SPDR S&P 500 and Invesco QQQ, and US Treasurys. DTCC used two enterprise blockchain networks to execute the trades: Hyperledger Besu and Canton Network, which are permissioned networks built specifically for institutional use.

The integration of Chainlink technology into DTCC's tokenized collateral platform is also noteworthy. This move aims to provide real-time, around-the-clock asset management, a significant upgrade from the current system where settlement windows and batch processing create friction.
