Dubai Duty Free Accepts SHIB and 29 Other Cryptocurrencies
Dubai Duty Free has become one of the world's largest airport retailers to integrate Crypto.com Pay, allowing customers to pay for purchases using cryptocurrencies like Shiba Inu (SHIB).
This move marks another significant adoption milestone for SHIB in the UAE. Eligible UAE residents can now use their preferred cryptocurrency, including SHIB and 29 others supported by Crypto.com, to make payments at Dubai Duty Free's physical stores in Dubai International Airport (DXB), Dubai World Central (DWC), and through its online store.
The integration is part of the emirate's D33 economic agenda, which aims to accelerate digital transformation across Dubai and transition 90% of transactions to cashless payment methods. Merchants like Dubai Duty Free can accept cryptocurrency payments without directly holding them on their balance sheet, eliminating exposure to price volatility.
