Dubai Duty Free Brings Crypto Payments to Airport Retail
Dubai Duty Free has introduced Crypto.com Pay as a regulated digital payment option for eligible UAE residents. This integration allows customers to use their Crypto.com accounts at airport stores and online, expanding the reach of crypto-enabled payments in global travel retail.
The rollout of Crypto.com Pay across Dubai International Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, and online follows Emirates adding Crypto.com Pay for flight bookings. The development creates another consumer-facing application for regulated digital payment technology.
Crypto.com President and Chief Operating Officer Eric Anziani said, 'Dubai Duty Free is one of the world's most recognised travel retail brands and one of the largest single airport duty free operators globally. The launch of Crypto.com Pay marks another important milestone in expanding regulated digital payment solutions for everyday commerce.'
The addition of Crypto.com Pay to Dubai Duty Free's existing checkout process enables customers to use the service without a separate retail payment system. In-store shoppers selecting Crypto.com Pay receive a QR code showing the purchase amount in UAE dirhams, which they scan through the Crypto.com App before approving the transaction.
