Dubai Duty Free Goes Crypto-Friendly

Dubai Duty Free has started accepting cryptocurrency payments for purchases at its stores in Dubai International Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, and online. The new payment option is available exclusively to UAE residents with eligible Crypto.com accounts, who can authorize transactions using the Crypto.com app.

The rollout follows a strategic partnership between Dubai Duty Free and Crypto.com, which was announced in July 2025. According to Ramesh Cidambi, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, this reflects the retailer's commitment to expanding digital payment options while supporting Dubai's ambition to become a global leader in digital commerce.

The service is processed securely through Crypto.com's regulated payment infrastructure, with settlement in UAE dirhams. Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Crypto.com, noted that this partnership marks another step in bringing regulated digital payments into everyday retail.
