Dubai Duty Free Welcomes SHIB: Crypto Payments Rolled Out Across Airports

Dubai Duty Free has become one of the first major retailers to accept Shiba Inu (SHIB) and 29 other digital assets for duty-free shopping at its airports, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of cryptocurrencies.

The move comes after Crypto.com received an official license from the Central Bank of the UAE to provide stored-value payment services, ensuring that retail cryptocurrency purchases operate entirely within the legal framework and under regulatory supervision.

This integration allows customers to use their chosen digital assets from the Crypto.com Pay app to pay for goods at physical stores in DXB and DWC airports, as well as on Dubai Duty Free's official website. The payment system instantly converts the assets at the current exchange rate, with the retailer receiving only UAE dirhams (AED).
