Dunamu and Visa Team Up for Stablecoin and AI-Powered Financial Services
Dunamu, the parent company of Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, has announced a strategic partnership with Visa to explore innovative financial services based on stablecoins and artificial intelligence.
The two companies will combine Dunamu's digital asset technology with Visa's global payment network to develop new businesses such as stablecoin payments, cross-border remittances, and AI-driven finance. The goal is to create a more secure, transparent, and interoperable application of digital assets and next-generation payments within a regulatory framework.
In the realm of AI, the partnership will focus on agentive commerce, where AI agents act on behalf of users to search for products or services and complete purchases and payments. Oh Kyung-seok, CEO of Dunamu, stated that AI, stablecoins, and tokenization will profoundly change the way finance and business operate.
The collaboration may also evaluate potential applications of Open Standard's stablecoin, Open USD (OUSD), which was launched in June this year with over 140 global institutions, including Visa, Mastercard, and Google, on board. OUSD is positioned as a shared payment infrastructure that does not charge minting or redemption fees and transfers most reserve earnings to participating entities.
